GSE faculty research

In fiscal year 2010-11, GSE faculty submitted 20 proposals for external funding. This is slightly fewer than last year; however, the size of the proposals submitted, both in scope of work proposed, potential impact on the school and the community, and the actual dollar amounts are much larger. This is because GSE faculty are venturing into more competitive fields; they are competing with larger research universities for NSF, NIH, and IES funding. Of those submitted this year, 6 proposals were funded: (three of which were submitted in fiscal year 2009-10). These will bring in $2,840,851 over the next four years. In June and July, GSE faculty submitted eight new proposals, an unprecedented number totaling $9,836,525.
