Special Education Department chair attains national office

Randall L. De Pry, PhD, professor and chair for the Department of Special Education was recently elected vice-president of the executive board for the Association for Positive Behavior Supports (APBS).

APBS is an international organization made up of a diverse group of individuals who promote positive behavioral interventions and supports. This group includes individuals from educational and community-based settings, as well as family members and self-advocates. APBS is used to decrease problem behaviors in schools and other environments in order to increase the quality of life for children and adults who experience chronic or persistent behavioral challenges. Dr. De Pry, is a specialist in Positive Behavior Instructional Support (PBIS).
