Over 250 GSE students participated in the annual hooding ceremony, held Friday, June 11 at the Peter Stott Center. GSE students comprised the largest pool of graduate-level degrees on campus. The keynote speaker for the GSE hooding ceremony was Professor Steve Isaacson, associate dean of academic affairs. Dr. Isaacson is retiring from his position this year, and will take over a half-time post as the chair of the Special Education department.
In addition to the GSE graduates, this spring saw the largest PSU graduating class ever with over 5,100 students marching through the Rose Garden Sunday, June 13, 2010. President Wim Wiewel called it the “best day of the year,” and special guest speaker Marian Wright Edelman encouraged graduates to “leave our world a better and safer place.”
We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of these candidates and we wish all our graduates the best of luck as they begin their careers as teachers, counselors, and adult educators.
