Centennial School district has selected Dr. Paul Coakley, MEd ’01, EdD ’13, as the new assistant superintendent/director of human resources for the district. He has demonstrated his loyalty to Portland State University by enrolling in multiple programs including: doctorate, master’s, initial and continuing administrator licensure programs through the GSE, and a bachelor’s in liberal studies from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
“Paul was the first student in my current doctoral cohort of 13 students to complete his dissertation,” says Professor Tom Chenoweth, his doctoral advisor. “He is highly motivated, task driven and a wonderful person.”
Dr. Coakley is the current assistant superintendent and a principal in Rainer School District. “I am very excited to come back to the east side,” said Coakley, who grew up in Gresham.
He will begin his position in Centennial on July 1, 2014.
